CHAMPIONS 4N FRANCE. AN AUSTRALIAN’S SUCCESS. By Telegraph.—Press Assn Copyright. Received July 21, 5.5 p.m. Faris, July 11. Poulain, the athlete, has satisfied the official test of his flying bicycle. He covered ten to fifteen metres without the aid of motor power, and was awarded the Peugeot prize of ten thousand francs. Spears, an Australian, won the cycling grand prize. Halpin was unplaced amongst eleten starters. Spears repeated his best lorm. He has just returned from a successful tour of Italy, where he won several races. Harder is not permitted to race yet, having omitted to obtain a clearance from the professional body in Australia, for which he cabled. Meantime he is training, and he expects to win several races before participating in the world’s chaimpionship at Copen-hagen.—Aus.-NJZ. Cable Assn.
