The first annual meeting of the Zealandia Co-operative Milkfoods, Limited, was held at Waharoa on Wednesday last. The local director, Mr. E. J. King, presided, and there were about 200 dairy farmers present. ' Mr. W. Goodfellow, managing-director, addressing the meeting, said the capital cost o the Waharoa factory was £'60,000 and that £15,000 had been paid up on shares during the past year. The monthly advance payments had been 2s 3d a pound, and a further paymem. oU 3d would be made on August 25. A final bonus would be paid on any milk powder shipped on consignment. An additional 3d a pound on butter-fat had been transferred to share account, which when added to the butter share bonus would make the total payments approximately 2s lOd a pound butterfat. plus a further possible bonus. The plant was now being electrically equipped. After minor adjustments had been effected it would be capable of treating all the milk from 5000 cows during the coming season. The meeting closed W ith a hearty vote of thanks to Mr. Goodfellow for his service to the dairyindustry during the past year.

He is bred "in the purple,” his sire being the noted Lord 'Tw’ylish. who was twice champion of Jersey Island, five times champion at Melbourne Show, and the winner of ten New Zealand championships, out of Queen of the Meadows, winner of four first prizes and reserve championship prizes. His grandsire is Raleigh, the sire of 22 tested daughters which averaged 171 b butter-fat for seven days. The great grandsire is Eminent, the first bull toj sell for £2OOO or over, and the sire of 60 tested daughters. The advent of this noted sire should give a fillip to the Jersey breed in the £?elson district
