Lady North cote presented Mrs. Hughes with a gold chain and enamel diamond pendant. Mr. Hughes converged freely with the King, who has an extensive knowledge of Australian conditions and politics. The Queen was also interested. The King and Queen of the Belgians talked to Mr. Hughes, King Albert saying, “Your country is very great and rery new.
