WEDDINGS.
WRIGHT—MASON. The wedding of Ralston T. Wright, second son of Mr. W. R. Wright, Rahotu, to Dorothy Catherine, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Mason, of Pihama, was celebrated by the Rev. Father Doolaghty at the Opunake Catholic Church on Wednesday last. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a pretty frock of white charmeouse and georgette with train of white satin, and the customary veil and orange blossoms. The bridesmaid, Miss Alice Mason, was becomingly attired in a eau de nil crepe de chine frock with black picture hat, and carried a beautiful shower bouquet. Mr. W. J. Wright was best man. After the ceremony' the young couple left the church to the strains of the Wedding March, played by Miss M. Macßeynolds, and together with near relatives adjourned to the residence of the bride’s parents at Pihama, where the wedding breakfast was partaken of and the usual toasts honored. Later the newly-married couple left for the south on their honeymoon. Their future home will be at Matangi.
LUMSDEN—BELL. A very pretty wedding was solemnised at the Presbyterian Church, Hawera, on June 29, the Rev. Mr. Gray officiating. The contracting parties were Mr. John Matheson Lumsden, of Meremere, and Miss Laura Ada Bell, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Bell, of Hawera. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a dress of white c:\epe de chine, trimmed with pearls and silver fringe. She also wore a tulle handworked veil, held in place by a circlet of orange blossoms, and carried a bouquet of white flowers and maindenhair fern with streamers of white satin ribbon. The bride was attended by Miss Clara Bell and Miss Annie Bell as bridesmaids, whose dresses were of pale green silk with silver fring and hats to match. Each carrid a shower bouquet of white flowers and maidenhair fern. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. R. G. Foreman as best man and by Mr. John Ross as groomsman. After the ceremony the many friends of the bride and bridegroom were entertained at the Islington Tea Rooms, which were beautifully decorated, an arch of flowers being a special feature. Afterwards the young couple left for Auckland, where > th* hoiiavmoon is being apent.
