THE WANGANUI SHOW. TARANAKI SUCCESSES. The Wanganui, poultry, pigeon, and cage bird society’s annual show opened on Wednesday. On the whole there was good competition in the various classes. Taranaki fanciers were well represented and secured many awards. In the fancy class section for Leghorns S.C. white cockerel, A. P. Lister secured first and special. Hamburgs.—W. Hall, two- firsts and championship. Golden Wyandottes.—Cock, W. Hall first, special and champion, and third; H. Cudby, second. Golden Wyandotte.—Cockerel, W. Hall 1 and 2; pullet, W. Hail 1 and 2. Utility Leghorns.—S.C. white cock, W. Scott 1 and special; hen, W. Scott 1 and special; cockerel, A. P. Lister 1 and special, W. Scott 2; pullet, W. Scott 1 and special. Indian Runner drake.—A. P. Lister 1 and special; under 12 mouths, A. P. Lister 1. In the pigeon classes, H. J. Moverley (of New Plymouth), secured eight firsts and two seconds in ten entries, and was also awarded special for best homer pigeon in show, and the special for best pigeon in show. The poultry championship for Partridge Wyandotte was won by A. C. Aubrey, and Golden Wyandottes and Silver Hamburgs by W. Hall.

Tie Rutherford shield for Silver Wyandotte was won by J. Urlieh, Golden Wyandotte shield by W. Hall, Partridge Wyandotte shield by A. C. Aubrey, and white Wyandotte. shield by J. Urlieh. The champion cup for best Wyandotte was won by J. Urlieh, who also annexed the Mawkes Cup for opposite sex to champion.
