THE NEW HEBRIDES.

JOINT CONTROL OPPOSED. MR. MASSEY’S VIEWS. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received June 30, 11.35 p.m. London, June 29. The New Hebrides question is coming within the scope of practical politics, and the general expressions of opinion favor a change from the condominium.

Mi. W. F. Massey says the present position is absolutely unworkable, and is getting worse. It might be possible to arrange an exchange of territory so as to provide one Government for these islands. Despite the fertility of the islands, the native population is rapidly diminishing.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
