BOXING.
THE ELTHAM TOURNAMENT. The Eltham Boxing Association is assured a record house at its tournament to be held at the Town Hall this evening, as the bookings are already very heavy. No one who saw the McAsey— Scott amateur bout at the last Eltham tournament will miss the opportunity of seeing these two men meet again in a ten-round bout. In the lightweight contest Thomas, who is well known locally, is pitted against Hart, an Australian boxer, who will keep him busy. Of the amateur contests little need be said. Many of the contestants are well known to local sports, and Humphries, Fitzsimmons and Julian may all be depended upon to keep matters moving in their respective bouts. The duties of referee will be undertaken by the popular Tim Tracey, of Wellington, and the association has left nothing undone to ensure the success of the evening from 'both the sporting and the financial aspects.
