Present quotations:—G4’s (merino), June 25, 3s 7d; May 28, 3s Bd. 56’s (crossbred), June 25, 2s 6d; May 28, 2s sd. 40’s, prepared (coarse crossbred), June 25, Is Id; May 28, Is Id. At Liverpool yesterday B.A.W.R.A. offerings totalled 22,850 bales, of which 4794 bales were New Zealand, balance Australian. Demand principally from Continental section, and about 85 per cent. sold. Crossbreds in liberal supply, showed a slight decline, but merinos sold about London closing rates, though some
finer sorts withdrawn owing to absence ot Continental support and firm limit. HEMP. / Manila market continues dull. "J” grade quoted £36 10s, April-June shipment. Sellers quoted, May-July shipment and JuneAugust shipment, at £36. New Zealand market shows very little change, consumers not interested. Business reported, high-points £3B per ton, fair £34 per ton, for shipment, but not disclosed whether direct transaction with New Zealand or second-hand sale. HONEY. Market continues very quiet. Only demand is for finest, for which quotations are 70s to 80s per cwt. (7%d to B%<i per lb), nominal. . Lower grades not moving, nominally quoted '33s to 50s per cwt. (3%d to 5%d per lb).
