AMERICAN RAILWAY CLAIMS.
A SETTLEMENT REACHED. By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright. New York, June 28. A settlement of the conflicting claims between the railways and the Government has been reached. The settlement provides that the railways will be permitted to issue bonds in part payment of their indebtedness and for permanent improvements during Government control. A substantial Government grant is also probable, for whieh 200 million dollars will be available. Treasury and Congressional appropriations will 'be necessary for the final settlement.
