FARMERS’ CO-OP. REPORT, The Farmers’ Co-operative Organisation Society of New Zealand Ltd., report for week ending June 25, 1921 On Monday, at Kaupokonui we had a most successful clearing sale on account of Mr. Alf. Gamlin. The cows were in good condition and sold well, best Jersey cows making up to £2B, others to £l7, other sorts £6 to £lO, the whole herd of 77 averaging £lO 13s 4d. On. Tuesday at Nonmanby we conducted a highly satisfactory sale on account of Mr. Jno. Duggan, Jersey cows made up to £2O, otterAto £l7, the average being £l4 4s. The implements, and sundries brought full values. On the same day at our fortnightly sale at Stratford we had a fair entry. Fat and forward owes 15s 3d, lambs to 12s, fat cows to £6 10s, fleshy young sorts £2 10s to £3, old sorts 20s to 30s, 2-year Holstein (In calf) to £G ss, weaner Jersey heifers to £5, others mixed sorts 35s to £2, a few springing dairy cows from £l2 to £14.:; On Wednesday we had a good yarding, the tone of the market was much brighter and competition keen, especially for Jersey weaners. Quotations: Lambs from £1 to 12s, young cows (empty) 35s to 50s, ditto to £6 10s, boners 20s to 30s, two-year steers to £3, bulls (Jersey cross) £6, Jersey in calf heifers to £l3 15s, others to £9, 2-year low conditioned £5 10s, empty heifers 2-year to £5, Jersey heifer weaners, best to £5 12s, smaller £3 17s 6d to £4 Ils, other breeds 35s to £2 10s, da',ry cows, older and late sorts £8 to £lO, waggon £B5, Implements and sundries at late rates. On account of Mr. Ern. Mcßeth, Normanby, on Saturday, we tad what will probably bo the highest averages in Taranaki this season. These cows were mostly Jersey with practically 31)0lbs of fat behind them. The highest price was £37 10s, the average for the herd being £25 6s, 3 Jersey heifers averaged £25. The pigs. Implements, and sundries brought full values. LOAN AND MERCANTILE REPORT. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company Ltd., Hawera branch, report; On Friday 15th inst., we offered the whole of “Scotty” Panenui’s Holstein herd. There was a good attendance; bidding was brisk throughout, and we report a very successful sale. We quote: f. and f. wethers 14s 6d, sow (with litter) £9 10s, store pig (medium) 21s, best cows £lB to £2O 10s, good do. £l3 to £l7, old and inferior sorts £8 to £lO 10s, cows in milk £4 to £2O 10s, empty (Jersey 20-month heifers £5 14s. At Kakaramea on Monday. We quote: Store cows (good) 31s to 38s, weaner heifers, Jersey and Jersey cross, and other colors 45s to £4 18s, empty heifers £3 10s. At Eitham on Wednesday, we had an average yarding. There was a good attendance; competition was fairly keen, and prices xiere on a par with recent sales. We quote :Lambs 10s to 12s, fat heifers £6 2s, cows (medium) £5 to £5 10s, good condition do £2 15s to £3 Is, stores 30s to 355, dairy cows (medium sorts) to £lO 10s, Jersey weaner heifers £5 9s to £5 Ils, Jersey cross £2 13s to £3 ss. On Thursday at Hawera, we had a good yarding of cattle and ohly a small entry of sheep. The majority of the yarding was disposed of at prices slightly in advance of recent sales. We quote: Store pigs to 15s, f. and f. wethers 12s 7d to 15s 3d, lambs 13s, fat cows £5 16s to £6 Ils, forward ditto £2 16s to £4 13s, others 15s to 325, line of in-calf heifers (mixed breed and good condition) £lO, Jersey 20-month heifers (empty) £6 16s to £9, 20-month steers £2 Bs, weaner heifers, Jersey cross to £3 7s 6d, others 28s to 31s, springing heifers £lO 15s to £ll ss, cows (medium) £lO ss, old and inferior sorts £6 to £8 ss. On Friday we held a clearing sale on behalf of Mr. F. R. Nicholson. The of the herd were not guaranteed in calf, In spite of this a satisfactory sale result™ Prices at late rates.
