Orders fur papers may also be left wiU l them. FIRE AT FIRE STATION. June 25. An alarm jf fire was sounded in Stratford at about 2.30 o’clock this morning, the outbreak being in the back rooms of the fire station. Six firemen sleep on the premises, and one, a baker, rose at 2.30 o’clock to go to his work, and discovered the fire, which then had a strong hold in the kitchep. The hose was quickly played on the flames, which were subdued in a few minutes, but not before the kitchen and its contents were practically destroyed. A new cash register and a typewriter, belonging to the firemen and stored in the kitchen for safety, were burned, the two machines being valued at about £BO. The total damage is estimated at about £l5O, and the building, with its contents, was insured in the State office for £250. The well-known hairdressing and tobacconist business in Broadway, until recently carried on by Mr. Stan. Sharp, haa been purchased by Mr. C. B. Walsh. Mr. Lew Walsh will be in charge, and i patrons may be sure of the very best j attention.
