FITZROY CLUB. THE ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Fltzroy Bowling Club was held In the pavilion on Saturday night. Mr. A. S. Brooker presided over " moderate attendance of members. THE PAST SEASON. The annual report stated; The year haj been a most successful and lengthy one. The committee officers and members have worked incst harmoniously together. Our receipts from all sources amount to £298 14s Id, against £292 14s 3d for the previous year.. The total seems to show a very small increase on the previous year’s receipts, butj in the previous year we received £6G 2s in special donations for the new tea kicsk,' so that the position Is very satisfactory. Our wages bill has been a little larger thartj usual, but the conditions of the green and; surroundings more than justified the extra expenditure. Our members' subscriptions to' the summer and winter green show an increase of £l9 19s 6d. Your committee think that while the finances of the club show a', satisfactory progress (our credit balance; standing at £44 14s id) that some efforts should be made to reduce our loan liability# The suggestion to take »ip two shares in the Building Society has been under considera-t tion. The attention of members Is drawn to the fact that £25 is still wanting to complete our improvements, and the committee will bQ grateful for any assistance, however small

In the former we won games except one. In that instance F was beaten by New Plymouth B. In thd semi-finals Fltzroy made two trips-to lUvvc-* ra, first defeating Hawera, and finally beating Manaia, and winning the banner. Thanks were expressed to the green warden, Mr. Dingle, and his many helpers; ta Miss Charteris for attention to the csoquet green, and to the Croquet Club generally; to Mr. L. Hammond, for acting as secretary dur<t Ing the past year; to the selector, Mr. Hirry Price; and to the secretary (Mr. W P 4 Okey). ELECTION OF OFFICERS. Officers for ti e ensuing year were as follows: President, Mr. A. S. Brooker; secretary and treasurer, Mr. W. I’. Okey; assistant secretary, Mr. L. /Hammond; . vicepresidents, Messrs. F. H. L. Roberts. GENERAL. In view of the fae, that the club membership now totals seventy, it was deeded to enter two teams in the banner competition. The selector was empowered tn appoint a deputy to assist him during the season, and the question of dividing the club into twe teams was left to the selector. j The annual subscription was fixed at £3 I reducible to £2 10s if paid on or before December 31; new members joining «ftej February 1, £1 ss. Members discussed .he method of playing the championships, and a proposal was made to continue as last year—best two out of three games. An amendment' was put forward In favor of playing under the sections system, one man one gain®, and was carried. A vote of thanks passed to Mr. Irvine for providing apparatus for oiling bowls, and for an offer of voluntary work in connection with the fciosk. A resolution was passed recommending the incoming committee to increase the locker accommodation. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the ladles for assistance rendered during the year, and to the Press. t
