FARM AND DAIRY.

CALFSKI NS—PR( ISPECTS FOR COMING SEASON. For some time past the price of calfskins has been at such a low level that that majority of farmers have not considered it worth while saving and marketing the skins. We understand that with the approach of the coming season, there is every indication that prices this year vill be approximately 4s to 6s each if in sound clean condition. During every season thousands of pounds are lost to the producers through not taking proper care of hide and calfskins. This loss is entailed mostly through insufficient salting and by farmers keeping them too long before marketing. The demand this year will be for calfskins in good sound condition, whilst inferior stuff will have very little market value. Every possible care should therefore be exercised in skinning and salting.
