REFUSAL OF THE BONUS.
DISSATISFACTION OF UNIONISTS. DRASTIC ACTION HINTED. B> Telegrapb —Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Considerable dissatisfaction is said to exist amongst trade unionists at the refusal of the Court of Arbitration to depart from its pronouncement regarding the bonus. A prominent Labor official says unionists are disgusted and that there was talk in Labor circles of abandoning the present methods of settling industrial disputes by reference to the Court, and either unions would cancel their registration under the Arbitration Act and use the machinery provided by the Labor Disputes Investigation Act of 1913 (which gives the right to strike), or else steps would be taken to bring about a change in the constitution ol the Court. It was felt that no good purpose was served by having a Judge as president, and it would be better to have disputes adjudicated upon by people chosen from the industries concerned. Difiicultiei arose over technical matters, and foi that reason it would be better to have industrial cases heard by men who had a thorough knowledge of all points in< volved.
