CANTERBURY MARKETS. Christchurch, June 21. Wheat is still difficult to get, mbst of it being now in farmers’ hands. Steady business is still being done in oats for export. Chaff Is very quiet, practically nothing being sent to the North Island, where, according to reports, the recent mild weather has had the effect of reducing the usual demand. What little chaff Is required there is being supplied from Marlborough. After a brisk run tho demand for linseed has fallen off again, and merchants report that it would be difficult at present to place a single truck. MARKET REPORT. Messrs. L. A. Nolan and Co. report a large entry of poultry on Friday last. Competition was godd for all lines, forward pullers being keenly competed for. Following is range of prices realised: —Hens 3s 6d to 4» lOd, ordinary 2s 4d to 3s 6d. pullets. White Leghorns 9s to 10s, others 4s to 5a 6d, geese 3s 9d, bantams Is 3d, cockerels, Mlnorcas 10s, Rhode Island Reds Gs, others 2s lOd to 3s 3d. In the mart shrubs and vegetables sold well. A large assortment of household umiture and sundries realised satisfactory prices.
