The Union Company have wirelessed the captain of the Waitomo to keep a sharp look-out for the steamer Canastota, which is eight days out from Sydney, and with. which wireless conwnunicafion cannot be obtained. The Canastota left Sydney for Wellington, where the vessel is to load for Boston and New York. There has been rough weather in the Tasman Sea during the last few days, which would account for a long trip, but her failure to answer wireless calls requires some other explanation.

KAMONA SAILS. The discharging of coal from the Kamona was completed last night, and the vessel left at 10.30 for Onehunga. PESHAWUR TO LOAD. The Peshawur (New Zealand Shipping Company) is expected to occupy the overseas berth immediately after the departure of the Suffolk, which should sail on Saturday aftrenoon. The Peshawur is to load 10,000 freight carcases from the Smart Road works. THE LINER SUFFOLK. The Federal liner Suffolk, which arrived at New Plymouth on Monday from Timaru, and which has hen anchored in the stream owing to lack of berthage nt the wharf, was brought alongside at 9.30 yesterday morning. The vessel is the thirty-sixth liner to enter this port, and when berthed was drawing 22ft. 21n. aft. She Is a twin screw vessel, and has the following dimensions: Length 460 ft, breadth 582 ft, gross tonnage 7573 tons. The Suffolk is under the command of Captain Ashworth, who has with him the following f officers: Chief officer, Mr. J. Hamilton; second, Mr. E. Swan; thrrd, Mr. H. Grace; fourth, Mr. H. Cashmore; chief engineer, Mr. D. McCulloch; second, Mr. J. Mac-Lean; third, Mr. R. Officer; fourth, Mr. W. Duthie; fifth. Mr. Archibald Jones: sixth, Mr. L. Jellyman; surgeon, Dr. Galstaun; wireless officer, Mr. A. Harbottle. Loading operat’.jns were commenced immediately following the berthing of the vessel, and nt the present rate of progress the whole of the cargo (25,000 freight carcases) should be on board in time for the vessel to sail on Saturday afternoon. WIRELESS FROM THE KIA ORA. The S.S. and A. liner Kia Ora has wirelessed to say she expects to arrive at Auckland from Montreal to-imorrow evening. The Kia Ora has cargo for discharge at Auckland and Wellington, and from Wellington will come to New Plymouth, then going to Wanganui and Wellington to complete. She is timed to sail from Wellington for London about July 29. WAIOTAPU AT AUCKLAND. The Union Company's freighter Waiotapu arrived at Auckland from Vancouver and San Francisco on Monday. After loading case oil, timber and general cargo, the vessel left the American port on May 26 for Auckland. She only made one stop en route, when she called in at Manahiki Island on June I!. She met with fine weather throughout the voyage. After discharge of tfie Auckland portion of her cargo the Waiotapu sails to-day for Wellington, and later comes to New Plymouth. Captain A. E. Barlow Is in command. THE MARAMA. The Union Company's R.M.S. Marama is to. leave Sydney to-day for Wellington, where she is due on Sunday or Monday. The vessel is at present timed to sail from Wellington next Tuesday for San Francisco via Rarotonga and Papeete. W.4IMANA REPORTED. A Press Association message from Home states that the S.S. and A. liner Waimana, which left Wellington on May 2 for the United Kingdom, arrived at London on Monday. THE ULIMAROA.
