WEDDINGS.
KENNEDY—CRAIGIE. The marriage was solemnised on Wednesday at St. John’s Presbyterian Church, Wellington, of Miss Flossie Craigie, daughter of Mr. James Craigie, M.P. of Timaru, and Mrs. Craigie, to Mr. Reuel Kennedy, of “Ellerslie,” Tahora, son of Mr. and Mrs. W, L. Kennedy, Tahora. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Dr. Gibb, and Mr. Temple White played appropriate organ music. The bride was given away by her father, and wore a charming French gown of ivory souple- satin, her veil being arranged in mob cap fashion and caught with posies of orange blossoms. Her bouquet was of violets. Miss Ruby Craigie was the bridesmaid, wearing a pretty frock of ihooplight blue crepe de chine, the draperies being caught with shaded rosettes of pink, mauve, and blue, her hat being of black panne velvet. Her bouquet was also of violets, these dainty flowers being a distinctive feature of the wedding. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Bartholomew, of Feilding, as best man. Mrs. Craigie (mother of the bride) wore a navy blue tailored costume and smart black hat with white wings, and carried a lovely bunch of violets. Mrs. Kennedy (mother of the bridegroom) was in brown charmeuse, and a small brown hat to match, over which she wore a sable coat, and also carried violets. After the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Craigie entertained a number of relatives to a luncheon at the Midland Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. Kennedy left by motor for the north, the bride travelling in a molecolored garbardine costume and a ribbon hat to match. With this was worn a handsome musquash coat. LAMBIE—CLARKE. A very pretty wedding of considerable local interest was solemnised at the Union Church, Mangatoki, on Wednesday, June 15, when Miss Fanny Clarke, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Clarke, of Hunter Road, was married to Mr. William Lambie, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Lambie, Hastings Road. The Rev. J. G. Castle officiated, whilst Mrs. Douglas presided at the organ. The church had been prettily decorated for the occasion by friends of the bride and bridegroom. The bride, who was given away by her father, was dressed in a beautiful frock of white satin trimmed with lace and pearls. She wore the customary veil and orange blossoms, and carried a beautiful bouquet. She was attended by her two sisters, Misses Hazel and Ella Clarke, who wore powder blue crepe de chine frocks and black hats and carried bouquets. Mr. Bob Lambie acted as best man, vZiilst Mn Hugh Lambie attended as groomsman. Subsequently a reception was held at the : residence of the bride’s parents, when the usual toasts were honored. Later the happy couple left by motor car on their wedding tour ,the bride travelling in a grey tweed costume with furs to , match, the hat being nigger brown.
