NORTH TARANAKI COMPANY. THE ANNUAL REPORT. The annual meeting of shareholders in the North Taranaki Co-operative Dairy Company will be held in the Hall, Urenui, on Tuesday, 21st inst. In presenting to the shareholders the twenty-fourth annual report for the year ending April 30, the directorate states:—lt is very gratifying to see such a substantial increase in the amount of milk received, notwithstanding the long dry spell of weather experienced during the latter part of the summer and throughout the autumn. The quantities of milk and cream received, and the figures relating to production are shown hereunder: Cheese.—Number of suppliers, 46; quantity of milk received (Onaero, 3,28’0,892 lbs; Waipapa, 4,227,089 lbs), 7,507,981 lbs; quantity of butter-fat received (Onaero, 132,034 lbs; Waipapa, 173,291 lbs), 305,3*25 lbs; average test of milk (Onaero, 4.02 per cent.; Waipapa, 4.09 per cent.), average 4.06 per cent; quantity of whey butter made, 20,328 lbs; quantity of cheese made (factory weight) Onaero, 369,379 lbs.; Waipapa, 47.3,978 lbs), 843,357 lbs; quantity of cheese made (net weight) (Onaero, 359,288 lbs; Waipapa, 461,195 lbs), 820,483 lbs; quantity of cheese made per lb of butter-fat (factory Weight),’Onaero 2.79 lbs: Waipapa 2.73 lbs; quantity of cheese made per lb butter-fat (net weight), Onaero 2.72 lbs; Waipapa 2.66 lbs; lbs of milk to lb of cheese, Onaero 8.88 lbs; Waipapa 8.90 lbs; cost of manufacturing lb of cheese 1.35 d, management and charges to f.0.b., .62d; depreciation, ;14d, total 2.1 Id. Butter.—-Number of suppliers, 45; quantity of cream received, d 31,475 lbs; quantity of butter-fat received, 224,828 lbs.; average test of creamj 35.60 per dent,; quantity of butter made, 273,617 IbS; over-full', 21,70 per cent.; lbs of cream to each lb of butter, 2.30 lbs; cost of manufacturing lb of butter, 2d, management and charges to f.0.b., L3ld; depreciation, .13d, total 3.44 d. During, the year £53,020 10s lOd has been paid to suppliers, being equal to 2s per lb of butter-fat. After providing £506 15s for depreciation, there remains a balance of £19,886 8s Id, of which £13,077 13s 9d belongs to milk suppliers, and £6,808 14s 4d to cream suppliers. The directors now. recommend a further payment to milk supplier sof 10£d per lb, and to cream suppliers 7£d per lb on butter-fat supplied during the twelve months covered by the balancesheet, bringing the total payment for the year equal to 2s 10£d to milk suppliers, and 2s 7ld to cream suppliers. Of this amount, it is proposed to pay to milk suppliers 8d per lb butter-fat, and to cream suppliers 6d per lb butterfat immediately after the annual meeting, and the remainder otf 2id and per lb butter-fat respectively as soon as the stock of cheese in cool store is shipped.
