On resumption of play McElwee playea for Davidson, who retired. Laing failed to convert a. free kick from half-way. New Zealand was now attacking stronger, thougn the play was nothing brilliant. Towards the end play became rough. As the result of loose play on the line. Bonnett got over, but raten missed with the kick. Tancred at. this stage retired. Laing was the best back on the field.
