PEDIGREE JERSEYS.
SALE AT STRATFORD. DISAPPOINTING PRICES. The Inaugural sale of pedigree Jersey cattle, under the auspices of the Stratford Jersey Breeders’ and the Stratford A. and P. Associations, was held at the Stratford Showgrounds yesterday, the auctioneers being Messrs. Newton King, Ltd. Although the weather was extremely unfavorable there was a very large attendance of Jersey fanciers present from all parts of the Island, and the class of cattle submitted represented the best in tte district. Bidding from the beginning was dragging, and improved but little throughout, with tho result that prices were disappointing. The top price of the sale (192 guineas) was paid by Mr. C. O. Care, of Cambridge, for the bull Willowbrook Lord. Only six of the 53 bulls offered were sold, but a much better proportion of the 89 females found buyers. The total proceeds of the sale amounted to £2502 19s. Following Is a partial list of the sales: — (On account of J. M. Shotter, Midhirst). Heifer, Glenllvet’s Dora, calved September, 1920.—D. L. A.
