The Kawatlri, which is to disctarge cargo at this port, is expected to arrive about 7 o'clock this morning. UNION COMPANY'S KAMONA. The Union Company’s Kamona should arrive In New Plymouth on Monday with 200 tons of coal from Westport. WAITOMO DELAYED. Work on the wharf was delayed yesterday owing to the heavy rain, consequently the collier Waitomo will be unable to leave before Monday. NGATORO SAILS. The Ngatoro sailed for Greymouth at noon yesterday after the discharging of coal bad been completed. THE RARAWA. The R&rawa arrived with passengers and 50 tons of cargo yesterday morning, and departed on the return trip at 8.20 last night. SUFFOLK TO-MOBROW. The Suffolk, which is expected to arrive to-morrow, will not be able to berth until the Waitomo gets away, and as the latter cannot leave until Monday, the Suffolk will be held up accordingly. PRSHAWUR TO LOAD. The Peshawur (Union Co.) which is to load produce here for the Old Country, is expected to arrive at New Plymouth on Wednesday next. KIA ORA IN JULY. Further advice from Messrs. Newton King, Ltd., in regard to the Kia Ora states that the vessel is to load 30,000 freight carcases of meat and 6000 crates of cheese at Naw Plymouth about July 18. This will be the fourth time the Kia Ora has. visited the port. On the last occasion she took a large cargo of 76,650 carcases. She ■is due at. Auckland from Montreal on June 23. WIRELESS FROM .THE WAIOTAPU. The W’alotapu forwarded a wireless message on Wednesday to the effect that she expected to arrive at Auckland on Tuesday. She is bringing cargo from Astoria', Vancouver and San Francisco. The Waiotapu has cargo for Taranaki, and is due at New Plymouth next month.
THE CANADIAN WINNER. The Canadian Government steamer Canadian Winner will arrive at Auckland on Monday from Vancouver. After putting out part cargo the vessel will leave Auckland for Australia. THE CITY .OF WINCHESTER. The City of Winchester is to leave Bluff today for Lyttelton, from which port she is to sail about June 22 for Australia. Sl:e will complete Homeward loading in Australia and s&ll finally from there for London. WESTRALIA LEAVES MELBOURNE. The Huddart-Parker steamer Westralia. left Melbourne for Wellington at 3.30 p.m. on Wednesday, and is due at Wellington on Monday. She has 84 passengers and 400 tons of cargo for Wellington. IN THE ROYAL MAIL SERVICE. The Makura was to have left Vancouver on .Tune 4 for Auckland. She is due at Auckland on June 24, and is to sail the next day for Sydney. The Niagara left Auckland on Wednesday afternoon for Vancouver. She is due at Vancouver on July 2. The Tahiti left Wellington on May 31 for San Francisco. She is due at San Francisco on June 20. Her next trip to Wellington will be started from San Francisco on June 24. MOERAKI LEAVES SYDNEY. The Union Company's steamer Moeraki left Sydney at 4.15 p.m. on Thursday for Wellington. She is due at Wellington on Monday. BIG FREIGHT REDUCTIONS. ON PACIFIC COAST TRADE. A message from New York states that in order to stimulate movements from Paniflc Coast .ports to Australia, the General Steam Ship Corporation, the Oceanic Steam Ship Company, the Canadian Government Marine, and the Canadian-Australian Line havS agreed to sweeping freight rate reductions, to become effective immediately. The tariff in regard to canned salmon has been reduced from 25 to 20 dollars por ton;
portable houses from 18 to 15 dollars per ton, and wallboard the same. Th© lumber rate remains at 20 dollars per 1000 feet. The rates apply to Auckland, Wellington, Sydney and Melbourne.
