RIFLE SHOOTING.
INGLEWOOD v. WAITARA (From Our Own Correspondent.) The representative team of the Inglewood Rifle Club journeyed to Waitara on Thursday, where they fired a match against a team of the "local dub, though, owing to the oud weather, the terms of the contest had to be modified to 10 rounds per man at 200 and 300 yards. The Inglewood team was composed mostly of men past their prime, while their rivals were on the average considerably younger, which, under the circumstances of the heavy downpour of vain which accompanied the shooting at the longer range, was decidedly in faVor of tl/Q home team. The Inglewood men say that, in spite of the weather, they had a really good outing, and are particularly firm In their appreciation of the hospitable treatment accorded them Following are the scores, by which it will be seen how much the rain affected the scoring at the 300 yards range; also that Rifleman Hopson, for Inglewood, put up the possible ut the 200 yards. WAITARA
The scores show .that the contest was even enough to make it very Interesting as well as to encourage the two teams to look forward to a good ding-dong go in at the return match, which Is to be fired at Inglewood on a date to be arranged. To old lovers of the rifle, should prove an attraction.
