In the House of Representatives the Tariff debate is dragging along. A combination of the Government and Labor, forces crushed out a series of amendments embodying concessions sought by the Country Party. MYSTERIOUS AIR TREMORS. Sydney, June 16. Yesterday’s disturbances are mysterious. They were first attributed to earth tremors but, in view of the fact that the instruments disclose mo vestiges of earth movements, scientists are clined to attribute them to unexplained air tremors. Another suggestion is that they were caused by very heavy blasting at Liverpool camp, where the old German internment camp, including a big hall, is being blown up. The explosions were so heavy that window’s and cTockery were broken in Liverpool township. THE WHEAT POOL. Sydney, June 16. The Cabinet has decided to ‘refuse the request ot the farmers to establish a private wheat pool for next crop. If the pool system is continued it will be under Government control. Melbourne, June 16. Mr. Oman, Minister of Agriculture, replying to a deputation representing wheat interests, favored the control of wheat reverting to the commercial community at the earliest opportuni+v.
