Hughes, rqjsponding, said he appreciated the honor done him by ths presence of the Prince of Wales, which was a great compliment. The cireumstances recalled the Prince’s marvellous crusade through Australia, which would never be forgotten. He impressed, him-’ self indelibly upon all hearts, and the visit had done more than anything else to help Australia to understand what the Monarchy meant to the Empire. He assured the Prince, on behalf of Australia, that the goodwill had since hie visit, and all ages and situa* tions in life regarded him with and held him to his promise to m&kqi another visit. —Aus.-N.Z.
