WAR PENSIONS.
SITTINGS OF APPEAL BOARD. The Minister of Defence (Sir Heaton Rhodes) stated on Monday that Dr. G, Lapraik, of Auckland, and Dr. E. K Edie, of the Military Hospital at Roto* rua, had been appointed members of the War Pensions Appeal Board. Dr. J. M. Christie is president of this board, which is to hear appeals against the decisions of the War Pensions Board. The board will sit first in Wellington l on Wednesday, June 22, and will sit in New Plymouth on Saturday, June 2fr. Wanganui will be visited on June 27, and the board will sit in Auckland on June 28. Subsequently, the board wiH sit at Hamilton, Palmerston North, Christchurch, and Dunedin. Appeals have to be made on the prescribed form, which will be available at the offices of the local Registrars of Pensions throughout the Dominion within the next day or two. The members of the board are likely to be kept busy for some time to come, since many men have been waiting for the opportunity to make appeals. The pensions law has contained authority for the constituion of an appeal board, but such a body has not been in existence until the present time.
