LOSS IN SHIPS.
STATE ENTERPRISE IN AMERICA. LARGE DEFICIT SHOWN. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received June 12, 5.5 p.m. Washington, June 10. The Administration will accept as unavoidable a loss of 2,000,000,000 dollars of the 3,000,000,000 spent on shipbuilding during the war period. The fleet is valued at 1,000,000,000 dollars, and it is futile to place the value higher, and the ships will be operated on this basis by the new Shipping Board, which will aim to get the Government out of the business as Soon as possible. Plans are being made for the. sale of shipping at 'its actual valuation.—<Auls.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
