Received June 13, 12.45 a.m. London, June 12. Nationalists and Sinn Feiners ignored to-day’s election of the North Ireland Senate, although the Unionists left seats open for them. The Unionists had to nominate the whole Senate and all were returned unopposed, including three Labor men.—-Aus.-NJZ. Cable Assn. CROWN FORCES’ CASUALTIES. THE HIGHEST SINCE 1916. Received June 12, 5/5 p.m. London, June 11. Six armed men attacked three police at Belfast, and Constable Glover was t at dead and others and a civilian were severely wounded. The assailants escaped. The casualties among Crown forces last week were the highest since 1916. They comprise sixteen police and eight military killed, and nineteen police and twenty-four military wounded. Crown forces made hundred's of arrets during a big round-up of Sinn Feiners in Monaghan County, including several noted gunmen, tome of whom were taken from their bets.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
