MAILS FOR AUSTRALIA.
IMPROVEMENTS SUGGESTED. By Telegraph.—Press Assn —Copyright Sydney, June 10. A correspondent in the Herald urges that if the departure of mail steamers for New Zealand could be delayed a few hours it would be a great advantage to business people. He points out that, under the present arrangements, mails for steamers departing on Thursday forenoon close at 5 o’clock on Wednesday, 17 hours before the hour of departure, while in the other States the mails close a day earlier on account of the steamer being timed to leave before the arrival of the Melbourne and Brisbane expresses.
