The New Plymouth Borough Council recently handed over an area of 20 acres at Moturoa for the purpose of the formation of a park, and a meeting of all persons interested in this proposal is called for to-day, at 2 o’clock, to view the site, which is at the corner of South and Pioneer Roads, and to make arrangements for planting shrubs, of which a large number have already been donated. A large attendance of Moturoa residents, and all others interested, is confidently anticipated. Messrs. Newton King, Ltd., call the attention of farmers to Mr. E. Whitman’s clearing sale on the Hastings Road on Monday next. Everything is to be sold, as the vendor is giving up dairying and leaving the district.
