OPUNAKE SEASIDE QUEEN CARNIVAL.

OPENS ON MONDAY. The final effort of those who have undertaken to raise £lOOO for the improvement of the Opunake beach will commence on Mondaj' afternoon next at 3 o’clock, when the carnival and bazaar will be officially opened by Mr. O. J. Hawken, M.P. " The function will run till Friday night, when the final results in the voting contest will be announced, and the candidate declared Queen Throughout the week there will be a varied programme of entertainments, including pictures, tug-of-war, etc. Games and sideshows will have space in the hall, and altogether there will be attractions for everybody. A special feature will be the tug-of-war tournament. the winner of which have been challenged by the Tarongatura team.
