REDUCTION OF PAY RESENTED. ULTIMATUM TO OWNERS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Another coal trouble appears to be in sight. Mr. Arbuckle (secretary of the Coal-miners’ Federation) stated to-day that the owners of the New Brighton mine had notified the men of a reduction of 2s per ton as from June 6. Mr. Arbuckle said the federation had given tho manager of the mine until Monday next to pay the old rates, and , failing compliance to meet this the men would be called out. The federation will then decide whether ail miners will cease working or what action will be| taken.
