BRITISH COAL STRIKE.
A COLLIERY RESUMES. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, June 7. The Knowle colliery at Rochdale has resumed work on condition the men are granted the full benefits of any general settlement. The Mansfield miners are signing a petition protesting against the continuance of the strike. OUTLOOK MORE HOPEFUL. London, June 7. The coal conference adjourned to enable the miners and owners separately to discuss the points raised. It will be resumed to-morrow. The outlook is considered more hopeful. The miners’ executive has summoned a conference of the federation on Friday, to which the owners’ proposals will be submitted, with the recommendation that they will be submitted to a ballot of the miners.
