A conference of trades unions’ representatives at Johannesburg carried a resolution declaring that there is no justification on the Jjart of the Chamber of Mines in giving effect to the proposed reduction of wages. The House Foreign Affairs Committee favorably reported on. the Porter resolution, extending the Borah disarmament amendment to include other nations than Britain and Japan; also to include the application of the principle to land forces. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. PLANNED REVOLT IN INDIA. Received June 7, 5.5 p.m. Washington. June 6. The Supreme Court declined to review the convictions against Jacobsen, Wehde, Boehm and Rupta. of Chicago, charged with conspiring to foment a revolution in India in the early part of the war. The New York Evening Sun’s Washington correspondent states the immigration commissioner has been advised that O’Callaghan (Lord Mayor of Cork) has left America en route to Ireland.
