THE WINTER SHOW.

OPENING TO MORROW. HON. W. NOSWORTHY TO ATTEND. The 12th annual Winter Show of the Taranaki Metropolitan Agricultural Society will be held in the Coronation Hall, Gill Street, New Plymouth, to-morrow, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The official opening will be performed tomorrow at 2 p.m. by the Hon. W. H. Nosworthy, Minister of Agriculture, and Mr. S. G. M.P. The poultry show held each year in conjunction-with the Winter Show will be held on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday only. The poultry division steadily growing stronger, th? result this year being that more entricr, were received than the society had pens for, but thanks to the aid of a neighboring poultry club about 100 additional pens were received and are now erected. All other divisions have been well supported, especiallj’ the field root division, in which some ver)’ fine specimens will be displayed. Tlie New Plymouth Citizens’ Band will be In attendance each night and will render a programme of popular airs. Everything possible is being done by the society to make the show attractive, and it is to be hoped that the public will respond and assist the society by attending the Winter Show on one of the four days this weelj.
