JAPAN AND SIBERIA.
EXPEDITION BY JAPANESE TROOPS. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. New York, May 31. The Peking correspondent of the Chicago Tribune reports that General Honiara, Chief of .Stall’ of the Japanese forces at Vladivostock, officially informed M. Popoff, chairman of the RussoJapanese Conciliatory Committee that within a month Japanese troops will make an expedition through the various regions of the maritime provinces from Kokolak Czarck to Camon, also along the western bank of the Nanka Lake and on both sides the Nssuri Railway between Svianchio and Izan.
The Russian reply states that such an expedition would violate the Russo--1 Japanese understanding. Tokio, May 31. Despatches from Vladivostock state that the anti-Bolshevik leaders, who have established a new Government, have extended their authority northwestward, being in control oj Spasak and Prodekov. The Japanese have recognised the new militia of Vladivostock on condition that it obeys the President of the Government.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
