NEAR EAST.

HOSTILITY OF TURKS. NATIONALISTS CAUSING TROUBLE. ANTI-BRITISH ATTITUDE, By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, May 31. A new situation has arisen in the Near East owing to the anti-British attitude of the Turkish Nationalist Government at Angora. The Nationalist government refused to carry out the agreement to exchange British prisoners, and, after a mock trial, executed an Indian Moslem who went to Angora for the purpose of trying to bring about a Turco-British reconciliation. It also declared that British ships would not be allowed to use Turkish ports. The Government further entered into an agreement with Moscow and Kemalist and Bolshevik agitators and promoted disorders in Mesopotamia, Palestine, and EgyptConsequently Britain is reconsidering her policy of neutrality in the TurcoGreek war.—Reuter.
