TARANAKI LAND BOARD.

MONTHLY MEETING. The usual monthly meeting of the Taranaki Land Board was held on Friday and Saturday, May 27 and 28, 1921. Present: Messrs. H. J. Lowe (chairman), S. Bla-ke, C. J. Ryan, N. R. Cleland, and J. W. H. Martin. The following applications for land were approved:—Section 2, block 111., Tangitu, S. A. R. Mair; section 43, block IX Cape, H. J. Smith; section 8, block XIII., Cape, G. Kindberg; section 14, block V., Totoro, J. J. Larsen. The following applications to obtain the freehold were approved:—Section 1, block XII., Omona, W. H. Sproull; section 8 block 111. Mapara, N. and G. J. Miller.

Mr. F. P. Corkill, sole arbitrator in the matter of the renewal of the following leases forwarded his awards, which were confirmed: —Mrs. F. Somerville, sections 1080 and K., parts 1060, 1081, 1082, 1102, and 112], town of New Plymouth; C. Skitrop, sub. 2, part W., town belt of New Plymouth; A. G. Mason, section 1141, town of New Plymouth; C. Carter, lots B and C., part section W., town belt of New Plymouth, parts sections 1102, 1103, 1121, 1122, and section 1123, parts sections 1062, 1063, 1082 1083, sections 1142, 1158, 1159, 1160, 1183, 1184, 1201. 1202, town of New Plymouth: Newton King, Ltd., section 14], Hua district; H. O. Ellis, sections 520 and 521, town of New Plymouth.

The surrender of section 15s, Huatoki Settlement, held by C. R. Borchart, was accepted. A schedule of sub-divisions in section 1, Ohawe townl belt, to be re-offered, was approved. The following transfers ware dealt with:—Sections 5 and 10, block 1, Pouatu, S. Schultz, to G. L. and W. iTrank deferred for applicants to appear; section 18, block V., Ngatimaru, Hunger and Meuli, to H. L. Gower—approved; part section 30, block X., Huiroa, H. G. L. Plews, te H. E. Plews—approved; section 17, block 11., Aria, Wm. Reid to Alice Riddle, and section 18, block 11., Aria. Percy Parkes, to Steven Riddle — adjeumed for ranger’s report. Sixty-one applications under the Discharged Soldiers’ Settlement Act were dealt with as follows:—Seven applications for buiHing grants were approved, seven refused and two deferred; two applications for additional grants were approved: twenty applications fot stock were approved, two refused, and seven deferred; seven applications to transfer were recommended, one refused, and three deferred; three applications for sub-division were adjourned for appearance of applicants and production of scheme of sub-division.
