FOREST FIRES IN INDIA. Received June 1, 1,20 a.m. Delhi, May 31. Unprecedented forest fires are raging in the Kumaou and Ganwahl hills, in United Provinces, causing serious damage. Incendiarism is suspected, and one arrest has been made. THE LEAGUE OF NATIONS. Received June 1, 1.20 a.m. Geneva, May 31. A commission formed to inquire into the organisation of the secretariat of the League of Nation’s labor office, in consequence of complaints that it was over-staffed and over-paid, has drawn up a report justifying the soundness and businesslike methods of the organisation.
