BOXING.

TARANAKI ASSOCIATIONS. MEETING AT STRATFORD. A meeting of delegates of Taranaki Boxing Associations was Feld at Stratford last night. Mr. P. Jackson (deputy centre chairman) presided. The following delegates were present :—New Plymouth, Messrs. P. Stainton, T. Rolston, E. Clarke (secretary of the Taranaki Centre) ; Stratford, Messrs. Nelson, Jago, and W. R. Foley; Eltham, Messrs. Casey and J. W. Turnbull. The meeting was very enthusiastic, and it was decided tn form a special committee, to be called the Taranaki Provincial Council, with delegates frodil each Taranaki association. Each association is to have two delegates, with the centre secretary ex officio. An understanding was arrived at with regard to purses to professionals. It was decided that in all future competitions amateurs will be signed up in a similar manner as professionals, and those breaking their engagements will be required to satisfy the central committee with: :t reasonable excuse, otherwise they will be 'suspended. It was decided to offer the next Taranaki amateur provincial championships to Eltham. It was resolved that no professional contest be held within ten days of any other Taranaki Association tournament. The annual subscription to the Taranaki Centre was fixed at £2 2s for each association.
