The Senate has approved of the Rhone hydro-electric scheme, estimated to cost 60,000,000 francs, under which, by means of eighteen power stations between the Swiss frontier and Avignon, 1,000,000 horse-power will be developed—a quarter for Paris and the remainder for the Paris —Marseilles railway. —Aus.-N.Z.
