Loading at 'Frisco for New Plymouth. Arrival date uncertain. THE RARAWA. The Rarawa is due to arrive from Onehunga early this morning with passengers and cargo. She will sail on the return trip at 8.20 p.m. KENNEDY FROM WELLINGTON. The small cargo steamer Kennedy is expected from Wellington to-day with general cargo to discharge. CORINNA DISCHARGING. The Corinna arrived on Sunday from South Island ports (Dunedin, Oamaru, Timaru, Lyttelton, Nelson and Picton), and commenced to discharge 1117 tons of cargo yesterday morning. The cargo includes a large quantity of potatoes, flour and other cereal products from the Canterbury ports, and about 3000 sacks of chaff from Picton and some fruit from Nelson. The Corinna is expected to leave to-morrow for Wellington, taking 7000 crates of cheese for transhipment to the Mahia. PARITUTU FOR OVERHAUL. The dredge Parltutu left at 1.50 yesterday afternoon for Wellington for her annual inspection and overhaul. TORT VICTOR LEAVES MELBOURNE. A cable from Melbourne states that the Port Victor left that port yesterday for New Plymouth, where she is due towards the end of this week to load frozen cargo. WAITOMO FROM NEWCASTLE. The Union Company advise that one of their large colliers, the Wa’.tomo (4214 tons gross) , is scheduled to load coal at Newcastle to-day for New Plymouth. FAST PASSAGES FROM PANAMA. The race between the steamers Otaki and Tairoa from Panama to Auckland, 6511 nautical miles, resulted in an easy win for the Otaki. Both vessels cleared Panama on May 7. the Otaki at 8.16 p.m., and the Tairoa two hours later. The former, which averaged over 13 knots on thp trip across the Pacific Ocean, reacted port at 9.30 a.m. on Sunday. The Tairoa arrived at 2.30 yesterday mornOPIHI MEETS GALE. The steamer Oplhi arrived at Auckland from Lyttelton on Sunday night. She experienced very heavy weather. She left Lyttelton at 10.30 p.m. on Wednesday and encountered a strong northerly gale. Conditions becoming worse, it was necessary to heave the vessel to in order to prevent damage to the deck eargo. The gale raged till Friday morning, when the weather moderated, enabling the vessel to resume' her voyage. The Opifci behaved splendidly and suffered no damage. HUANUI REFLOATED. A telegram from Gisborne says the schooner HuanuL recently stranded on tie Waikanae beach, was floated off on Saturday night and berthed at the wharf on Sunday. The vessel is leaking slightly. There is no sign yet of the bodies of Captains Anderson and Martin. SHIPPING TELEGRAMS. ARRIVED. Sydney, May 30.—Ron a. Wellington, May 30.—Moeraki (12,20 p.m.), from Sydney. The Federal liner Suffolk is to leave Wellington on June 9 or 10 for Timaru to load for Boston, New York, Liverpool and Avon■mouth. The Suffolk later loads at New Plymouth. OTAKI AT AUCKLAND. The liner Otaki arrived at Auckland on Sunday from New York and Newport News via Panama. The Federal Line advise that the vessel is due at Wellington next Monday. THE CARPENTARIA. The New Zealand Shipping Company's liner Carpentaria arrived at Wellington yesterday from Auckland. The Carpentaria has St. John cargo to discharge. PALOONA FOR NEW ZEALAND, The Union Company's inter-colonial steamer Paloona is expected to leave Melbourne tomorrow for Bluff, Dunedin, Lyttelton, and Wellington. She is timed to sail on the return trip about June 8.

ABEMANA FOR WELLINGTON. The sailing, vessel Abemana left Hobart on May 19 for Dunedin and Wellington. The vessel, which is bringing bluegum, is expected daily at Dunedin, and after discharging the Dunedin portion of her cargo, will go to Wellington. PAPAROA LEFT HOME. Cable advice has been received by the New Zealand Shipping Company that their liner Paparoa left Southampton last Thursday for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and x ort Chalmers, via St. Michaels (Azores Islands), Newport News and Panama Canal. The vessel is bringing 277 passengers (saloon and third-class) and general cargo. The Paparoa is due at Auckland about July 11, and at Wellington a week lat-er. OVERSEA^STEAMERS.
