AN OPEN LETTER TO MR. PORTER (Representative of the A.W.R. Milking Machine) or any other of our Competitors. y)EAR SIR, —*We are surprised to be informed by several farmers of unquestionable standing, residing in the Strathmore—Te Wera district, of the tall tales .you are alleged to have spun concerning the now famous Farmers’ Milking Machine, which we have the privilege of representing. In order to give you a chance of proving the alleged assertions, we propose publicly challenging you, or any of our competitors, to a public contest extending over three days before a practical and impartial committee of dairymen, and if we fail to prove the superiority of the Farmers’ ” we will donate £5O to any public or charit-' able institution agreed upon, providing, of course, you do likewise if you lose. We may state we claim several advantages with the “Farmer” that no other machine can approach — (1) The small amount of power required to run it. (2) Our perfect and simple method of testing individual cows. (3) Being able to give more or less vacuum to tough or easy cows, etc., etc. For efficiency, simplicity and durability the “Farmers’” is unequalled. This challenge is open for one month from date. (Signed) STAINTON & CO., LTD., Taranaki Distributors “Farmers’” Milking Machin/, New Plymouth. May 30, 1921.
