RATE FOR HEMP EXPORTS OATS AND PEAS REDUCED By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night."' A reduction has been made by the overseas shipping companies in the freight rates of New Zealand hemp for shipment to the United Kingdom, and the rate is now £6 10s per ton, plus 10 per cent. It was recently reduced from £l5 15s to £lO 10s, plus 10 per cent, in each case. The freight reduction in hemp is expected to materially assist Manawatu and other flax-milling industries, providing the current ratea for in London are maintained. The freight on oats and peas for the United Kingdom has been reduced from £4 Bs, phis 10 per cent., to £3 Bs, phis ; JO per cent. The trade in oats for ex*.) port to England is expected to be proved by these freight reductions.
