THE WHEAT MARKET.

THREAT OF “CORNER” IN CHICAGO. IMPORTS BREAK THE PRICE. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. New York, May 26. A Chicago message states that indications point to a wheat corner by farmers, whose non-deliveries are throwing speculators into a panic. The latter are being pressed by seaboard exporters and foreign countries which bought months ago. Within three weeks May wheat prices rose 50 cents. While millions of bushels of wheat have been sold for May delivery, it is estimated that only 4000 bushels are available in Chicago. Chicago, May 26. The high prices have attracted wheat from Canada, also from American farmers who have been holding back, as cabled to-day, resulting in a sudden rush of deliveries and prices broke 10£ cents per bushel to 159 J cents.
