WINTER SHOW.
The attention of readers is drawn to the announcement appearing in the advertising columns regarding the closing of entries for the forthcoming Taranaki winter show. Owing to the change in the halfholiday commencing .this week, the office of the Socoiety in Currie Street will remain open till 9 p.m. on Friday night instead of Saturday, as previously advertised, for the purpose of receiving entries for the show.
All entries will close definitely on Saturday next at 5 p.m. Those who have not already received a prize schedule should write to P.O. Box 18 for one immediately. Classes for everybody and almost everything are to be found therein, and liberal prize money is offered. Every farmer should be able to contribute one or more entries to the hams and bacon, fruit, field roots, or Taranaki-grown seed and grain. Amateur gardeners should be able to swell the garden vegetables and potato sections, and the womenfolk should be able to head the list for entries in the numerous classes provided for them, such as home-made butter, cooking, jams, sauces, pickles, bottled fruits, homemade sweets, fancy work, etc. School children are also well provided for in all kinds of work. In short, there is an opportunity extended to everybody to prove what our district and its inhabitants can produce. Call, write, or ’phone for a schedule to-day and see for yourself. The office of the society is situated in Collett and Co./s buildings, Currie Street. The P.O. box number is 18, and the ’phone number 87.
