The Rarawa arrived from Onehunga early yesterday morning with passengers and 88 tons of cargo. The vessel sailed again for Onehunga at 8.20 p.m. MAINDY LODGE SAILS. The steamer Maindy Lodge, which has been in port since May 12 discharging 3000 tons of coal from Newcastle, completed yesterday afternoon and sailed at 3.30 o’clock on the return trip to Newcastle. WAIMATE TO-DAY.

The Wakmate left Oamaru at 2 a.m. yesterday to continue Homeward loading at New Plymouth. She should arrive this afternoon, and will berth after the departure of the Australcrag. The cargo to be loaded here consists of 8000 crates of cheese; 18,600 freight carcases of frozen meat (6700 from the Smart Road and 11,900 from the Waiiara works) ; 230 casks of tallow from the Smart Road freezing works; 150 cases of meat and 19 bales of wool from the Waitara freezing works; and 366 bales of wool and 34 casks of tallow from various shippers at Waitara. AUSTRALCRAG TO SAIL. It is expected the discharging of the Australcrag’s cargo of slag will be completed tonight, and the vessel is timed to sail for Sydney to-morrow morning. Her berth will be immediately taken by the Waimate. TREGARTHEN DUE FRIDAY. The Union Steam Ship Company advise that the Tregarthen is to leave Dunedin to-day in continuation of her voyage from New Orleans, arriving at New Plymouth on Friday and berthing when the Waimate completes loading. The cargo of fertiliser the Tregarthen has for this port amounts to about 500 tons. CARGO FROM THE SOUTH. The Corinna (U.S.S. Co.) left Timaru on Monday night, and was to leave Lyttelton at 5 o’clock yesterday afternoon for Plcton, Nelson and New Plymouth. On arrival here, probably on Friday, she will have over 1000 tons of cargo to discharge. WEST WIND DELAYED.

The steamer "West Wind, which left New York on April 13 for New Zealand (Including New Plymouth) and Australian ports, has been delayed at Cristobal owing to engine trouble (according to advice received in Auckland.). She arrived at the Panama Canal on April 28. CARGO FROM PACIFIC SLOPE. The Union Company announces that supplementary to the monthly mail steamers from Vancouver calling at Auckland, and from San Francisco, touching at Wellington, the company has established a regular service of modern cargo steamers from West Canadian and American Pacific coast ports to New Zealand and Australia. The loading ports and ports of discharge will be arranged according to the inducement offered. The Waihemo is now en route from Los Angeles to Auckland and Wellington. The Waiotapu has just loaded on the Pacific Slope. The Wairuna is to load in June, followed by the Waikawa in July and Waitemata in August. New Plymouth is included in the discharging ports of the Waiotapu.

PESHAWUR TO LOAD. The New Zealand Shipping Company advise that the Peshawur, <jue at Wellington on June 14 from London, via Panama, in ballast, is to load for the above-mentioned company at New Plymouth and Wellington for London. SUFFOLK AT WELLINGTON. The Federal liner Suffolk arrived at Wellington from Liverpool, via Panama and Auckland on Monday. She is to sail next Tuesday for Timaru for Homeward loading, and calls afterwards at New Plymouth, Wanganui, and Wellington, sailing from Wellington for Liverpool and Avonmouth. MARAMA AT ’FRISCO. The Union Company advise that the R.M.S. Marama, which arrived at San Francisco on Wednesday last from Wellington via ports, was to sail on the return trip yesterday. She is due at Wellington about June 15. THE KAIKOURA. The New Zealand Shipping Company advise that the Kaikoura, due at Auckland on June 2 from London, will put out all her cargo at Auckland and Wellington. OVERSEA STEAMERS.
