CLAY BIRD HANDICAP.

AT STRATFORD TO-DA’.. At the Stratford Show Grounds to-day a £lOO open clay bird handicap will be fired, and to-morrow the clay bird championship of the Dominion will be decided. The gathering, which is being held under the auspices of the Stratford Gun Club and the New Zealand Gun Clubs’ Association, is attracting the crack shots from all parts of the Dominion, over forty nominations having been received for to-day’s handicap. A keen contest for tbe clay championship to-morrow is also assured. The championship medal, valued at £l7, has been presented by the Stratford Gun Club, and it is now on view in Mr. J. Petrie’s jeweller’s shop, Broadway, Stratford. To-day’s shoot will commence at 11 o’clock sharp, and the public will be admitted on payment of one shilling. Luncheon and afternoon tea will be available on the grounds.
