SOUTH AFRICAN TEAM’S TOUR. By Telegraph.—Press Assn—Copyright. • Capetown, May 20. According to provisional arrangements for the Australian cricket tour, the cricketers will arrive at Durban on October 14, and depart for Australia on December 2. Matches will be played against Natal, at Durban; the Transvaal, at Johannesburg; the . combined Free State and Gdiqualand West, at Bloemfontein or Kimberley; Western Province, at Capetown. There will be three test matches. At Durban, from October 21 to 25 inclusive, alternatively October 25 to 29; Johannesburg, November 4 to 8, or November 5 to 9; Capetown, November 25 to 29. AN IMPERIAL CONFERENCE. MATTERS FOR DISCUSSION. Received May 21, 5.5 p.m. London, May 20. Tt.e Australians leave for South Africa by the Balmoral Castle, on September 13. At the instance of Mr. Smith, a meeting of the Imperial Conference will be held at Lords on June 6. Smith has compiled a list of matters for discussion, including an eight balls over, rolling the wicket for an extra ten minutes in the event of rain, the dates of future visits to and from England, and the arrangement of the programme of future tours.
Regarding the last named, Australia desires ap arrangement by the central body like the Board of dontrol in Australia, and will press that all county fixtures be subservient to in•ternatior.al contests; also that the hours of play in all county games be from noon to six; also the question of test matches being played to a conclusion in England. Malley will attend the conference with Smith.
