KIRKWOOD IN ENGLAND. LEADING IN OXHEAD MATCH, By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, May 19. Kirkwood did the second round in 74, and leads the field in the qualifying round at Oxhead, near London. He is followed by Haxers 150, Taylor 151 and Massey 152. Kickwood’s long shots more frequently found the rough than yesterday, but this was compensated for by better luck on the greens. He holed three putts of 12, 15 and 20 feet. His card included ten 4’s, two 3’s, four s’s, one 6 and one 2—total 74. East, who did his second round in 84, is sure of qualifying. Received May 20, 5.5 p.im. London, May 19. Kirkwood’s actual strokes were 73, equalling Oxley’s, a competition record, but he added a, penalty owing to his ball moving when he addressed it at the eighth fairway. The competition concludes on Friday and Saturday with seventy-two holes play.— Reuter Service.
