THE DIVORCE LAWS.
NEW PLYMOUTH CASE. I UNDER THE NEW ACT. A petition for divorce, founded on a mutual agreement for separation between husband and wife, was heard in tlie Supreme Court, New Plymouth, yesterday, before H?s Honor Mr. Justice Reed. The petitioner was Jane George, of New Plymouth, and the respondent Alfred 0. George. For petitioner, Mr. C. H. Weston said the divorce was based on section 4 of the amending Act of 1920. The parties, who. were married on August 27. 1900, lived together for some thirteen years, there being two children of the marriage. In May of 1'913 petitioner and respondent came to a mutual agreement to separate, and had not lived together since. Under the agreement the husband contributed towards the maintenance of the two girls for some time, but the wife kept herself. Tn asking for a dissolution petitioner also requested an order for interim custody of the children. She did not seek costs, as George had already paid these. Evidence of the petitioner was heard, and also of Mrs. E. Doeg, New Plymouth. His Honor granted a decree nisi, to be made absolute in three months.
